Cotton Bags
The eco-friendly all-rounders
Whether weekend shopping, lunch for the office, a little fruit for the road or small accessories - our fabric bags offer exactly the space you need for everything. Sometimes small and handy, sometimes large and with additional compartments - just as you need them. To ensure that the alternative to plastic bags is also environmentally friendly, you will only find fabric bags that are made from GOTS certified organic cotton.
Fabric bags for on the go
They are cuddly, strong, soft and real all-round geniuses - fabric bags. As an environmentally friendly alternative to plastic bags, they are currently conquering many households and have become a popular accessory to reduce the mountains of waste. But is a fabric bag really better than plastic? No. If you use a fabric bag several times and save on the petroleum-based plastic bags, you are definitely on the right track. But if the bags are made of normal cotton, the situation is not so clear-cut. In order to really reduce the burden on nature, a fabric bag has to be used a hundred times more than its plastic counterpart.
GOTS certified organic cotton
We therefore looked closely when selecting our range and found a partner in The Organic Company which offers sustainability and a green alternative in its fabric bag collection from the first to the last step. The special thing: All fabric bags are produced from GOTS certified organic cotton.
The advantages: Growing organic cotton uses up to 99% less water than conventional cotton. Organic cotton is produced without the use of toxic pesticides, chemicals and other additives. The GOTS certificate also guarantees that all phases from production, use of fabrics, transport and the finishing plants are complied with in an unobjectionable manner. For example, finishing plants must demonstrate the use of a sewage treatment plant and fibre producers must operate according to the guidelines for organic farming. The social conditions in the processing plants must meet requirements that comply with the minimum criteria of the International Labour Organisation (ILO) and not exceed limits for residues to protect the workforce. When, in addition to these measures, water and energy are used in a resource-conserving manner and fully documented in the supply chain, the organic cotton is GOTS certified.
With the fabric bags from The Organic Company, you have accessories that meet all these requirements and not only look great, but are also good for people and nature.
